Collaboration

Teachers are far more effective and influential in reaching students when we work together than alone. In my work with colleagues, I try to help them elevate their craft and multiply our impact.

Most recently, I have worked with teams of colleagues to plan and execute projects like ntcamp, the NAGC Administrator’s Task Force, and Digital Learning Day.

I have also co-planned and co-taught lessons and units with teachers in grades 1 through 5. Instruction dealt with content in all subject areas, and I am experienced with multiple models and techniques for differentiated instruction and co-teaching.

I was a member of a team formed to develop new gifted curriculum and identification procedures.

As the Student Support Teacher, I coordinated the Student Support Team to identify and meet the needs of struggling students. It was my responsibility to manage the team, coordinate development of specific strategies for individual children, and supervise their implementation.

As Science Lead Teacher and Curriculum Resource Teacher, I led or participated in curriculum writing and materials selection teams in science, mathematics, reading, language arts, health and physical education, and gifted support.
